Tournou le Haut lies in the Languedoc wine region of Southern France, south of the historic Medieval town of Carcassonne, on a hilltop in the foothills of the Pyrenees. It has been lovingly restored and expanded into a modern year-round residence of 7,000 sq.ft, a massive wine cellar with climate control, an infinity pool overlooking the valley, a walled vegetable garden, a 0.8 km private drive guarded by a massive iron gate. And the international airport at Toulouse is only 1hr 15min away.
Throughout the interior, modern furnishings abound, from the finest fabrics to handmade solid oak beds, wardrobes, tables and furniture. The "Great Room" has a huge fireplace, leather sofas and comfortable seating areas, all surronded by the warm natural stone of the original structure.
The house consists of six bedrooms, two ensuite bathrooms, a large bathroom with tub and shower, two toilets, a spacious fully equipped kitchen with centre island, dining room with a custom made table that seats 12 comfortably, a family room with fireplace and entertainment system with satellite dishes, garage with electric door opener, internet and library with wet bar on the top floor, alarm system, secure wine cellar with climate control, workshop and wood storage.
The grounds have an infinity pool, a walled vegetable garden, terraced landscaping, children's play center, automatic lawn sprinkling system, garden lights, BBQ near the pool, large parking area and paved driveway.
Tournou Le Haut is maintained year round by a couple who live on site to take care of the grounds and property and can help guests orient themselves to the house and surrounding attractions. The caretakers are experienced and offer a full range of catering services and house keeping services which are available by special request.
